H.E.L.P. (Helping Enhance Local Primary)

Welcome to the H.E.L.P. page! Here you can find out all about the work of the H.E.L.P. group, events that have happened and those planned for the future, and how you can be part of enhancing your local primary school.

We are an enthusiastic group of parents and teachers who get together to raise funds which can be used to buy extra resources for the school. We aim to provide closer links between home and school by bringing staff, parents, carers, children and friends together socially in support of the school.

We are raising money for improved pupil facilities. Our initial target is to raise money toward the development and improvement of the school’s outdoor play areas. This will contribute to a safer, more educational and fun environment for our children.

2011 – 2012

Our pupils are now enjoying our new outside equipment, including a climbing wall, a climbing frame, a swamp crossing and picnic benches featuring table top games! Our next project is to develop an outdoor learning area.  This will include seating and raised flower beds.

2012 – 2013

Thank you for purchasing Christmas cards, we received a cheque for £99.50 from Cauliflower Cards!

A huge thank you to all the parent helpers, staff and year 6 children who helped with the Christmas Fair, which raised £442.08!

Have you noticed the frog and bear in the playground?  They are the new bins HELP Group has purchased with the School Council.  We have spent £1730.43 on the bins and 4 new IPads.  The School Council have been allocated funding and are choosing their next project!

The recent Soul Solution event raised £827 towards school resources!  Thank you very much!

We would also like to welcome our new HELP Group members!  Thank you very much for your support and hard work!

2013 – 2014

This year the HELP Group is continuing to raise funds to help enhance the outside area of the school.  The planters are looking great and the cleared woodland area will be a great resource for all the children.  This year we plan to purchase some fruit trees to further enrich the area.

Thank you to everyone who helped and attended the Christmas fair and disco.  This year over £812 was raised for the school!  Fantastic!

2014 – 2015

This year we will be helping to raise money to transform the area behind the school hall by creating a pond dipping area.  There will be many of interesting events to raise funds for this, including a Band night, disco and Christmas fair.

How to get involved!

H.E.L.P. is an exciting and friendly way to get involved at Saint Lawrence. We have raised a fantastic amount of money with many smiles along the way! If you have even a little time to spare you can be involved too. Most of our meetings are held to prepare for a forthcoming event, so if you were able to come to one just before any event then you would immediately be able to be involved in planning, organising and helping at that event. Even if you can only spare half an hour at the event itself, it may help someone else have a break! All and any help is gratefully received. If you find you want to get more involved and can commit more time then please get in touch and we can let you know how you can help.
